DHCP Nap and non domain joined computers RRS feed

  • Question

What happens if you implement DHCP NAP and you have a user with a laptop that is not joined to the domain.

    Will enforcement still occur?

What features will not work if so (quarintine)?

What about the gpo settings on non domain joined systems?

  • Hi,

NAP with DHCP enforcement will occur on the workgroup computer as long as the client machine is running the NAP agent service and the DHCP enforcement client is enabled.

If it is not domain-joined, you cannot automatically configure these settings with Group Policy. Use nap client configuration console (napclcfg.msc) or netsh nap client context from a command line to enable the enforcement client. Use net start napagent to start the nap agent service, or use the services console (services.msc).
