Printing Error on MS-Excel XP SP3 RRS feed

    Hi there,

    I have a Windows 2003 sp2 file server.  All the users use terminal services to connect to it (Remote Desktop connection). when they try to print using MS-excel XP 2002 SP3, either ctrl+p or file  -> print, the dialogbox comes up with blank field name, and also they are not able to select any printer. 

    They are able to print from MS-word, MS-powerpoint except with MS-excel.

    Things that I tried to solve the problem:

    1. Reinstalling MS-Office
    2. Upgrade the SPS from sp1 to sp3
    3. Update the server using windows update.

    If anyone had the same problem could you pls show me how to fix it.

    Hi,

     

    Based on my experience, this issue may occur when we are over the internal Excel limit for the printer list -16KB. As we know, Excel reads the installed printer and the default printer from the following registry-keys. When the Excel limitation is more than 16KB, it will not detect the printer list.

     

    HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

    HKEY_Current_User Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Devices

     

    Meanwhile, as the issue is related to Excel, it is recommend that you post a new thread in our Excel newsgroup. The engineers and community members there have more experience and can help you in a more efficient way.
