One of my colleagues is sequencing an application COSS Report, that has a desktop shortcut in it. The application has been sequenced with other application that are required as pre-requesites. The pre req are Oracle 9i client and Access 97. When he deploys the virtual application the COSS Report icons do not appear on the desktop. We have checked the sequenced package and the icons is in the correct folder location etc.
Does somebody know why the icon would not be appear even though it is in the sequenced package???
Have you checked if the application entry is visible in the Client's Management Console's Application -list?
If not, check the sftlog.txt logfile of the client to see if it has been unable to load OSD file for the COSS Report. Also check that there isn't application entry of identical name (perhaps from the earlier sequence of the same app), client cannot add application with names (NAME + VERSION) that matches to one already in it. To see all applications, enable "Show all known applications" option from the client's View -menu when looking at applications, you have to be local admin for this to work.
If the COSS Report is visible at the client and you are using Management Server backend, check from the application record at the central management console, from Shortcuts -tab, that there is a shortcut defined for desktop.
