Virtual switch on network bridge RRS feed

  • Good day,

    I have network bridge made with 2 ethernet adapters on my Windows 2012r2 server.

    Am I able to do virtual switch based on network bridge? Right now I can choose only single network adapter while switch creating :<

    No it cannot be done, you may refer to the following thread with the similar query:
    Cannot Network Bridge two Virtual NICs

    Instead you could create a NIC team from the two (2) ethernet adapters and create a virtual switch and select the team.

  • You should be able to team them, then create a vSwitch based on team.

  • Hi human122,

    Hyper V virtual switch do not support to bind to network bridge, but it support to bind to NIC teaming.

    Below are the steps to create NIC teaming, for your reference:
