Vista and Raid Controller's. RRS feed

  • Question

  •      I found and issue with the siig USB 2.0, 1394, UltraATA Raid Card (Combo) PCI. With WinXP Put the card in rebooted and installed the software.. (this card does not control my OS) So upgraded to Vista and card would not install. Oddly enough The USB and Firewire on the card worked just fine but would not see the Raid Controller....

Answer: that I found, had to install Vista from scratch during the installation screen of asking were to install vista clicked on install driver put the driver cd in for Raid card and found it... then went back clicked on the C: drive and installed when vista came up, saw the Raid and worked just fine... Just a helpful note.

  • What is a Raid Controller, and how do I get rid of it?  It will not let me install safely some Norton's products.

This is the first I have heard of a Raid Controller but it does not sould like I would want it on my computer.

Any idea's on what I can do about this is appreciated.  Gene K
