SfB and Windows Phone RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All.

In our organisation we are using SfB in Office 365.  We are using Microsoft Lumia 650's as our mobile phones and are having problems with using these for Video calls within SfB.  IM and Audio is fine, Video is does not work at all.

Has anyone experienced any issues with using Windows Phones and SfB?

  • Hi Ki Simpson,

In the settings in the SfB mobile client is "Require WiFi" enabled for video calls ? Do you have issues when connected via WiFi and / or mobile data network  ?

    Thanks,

    Martin

  • no such issue that we have seen , but would  like to  know whether the normal skype consumer calls are working for the users from the mobile to check whether its the video related issue.

  • Hi Simpson,

Do this issue occur to all users?
Do this issue occur when you configure SFB profile on Windows?
Do this issue occur on the other phones?
Is there any error when you start a video on Windows phone? Or don’t have video button?

If you want to start a video call, you should make sure “Enterprise Voice” has enabled on user account in Office 365. If enable, please use different phone for a test and update Windows phone to the latest.

  • We have tested this on Mobile Data and Wi-Fi and still experience the same problem. Seems to be an issue with just Windows Phone, iOS and Android are fine?

  • Do this issue occur to all users? - Only some, cannot negate which ones are affected
Do this issue occur when you configure SFB profile on Windows? - No
Do this issue occur on the other phones? - No, just on Windows Phone
Is there any error when you start a video on Windows phone? Or don’t have video button? What happens is the video starts to load and then fails

  • Hi Simpson,

Because this issue just occur on Windows phone, please update Window phone to the latest, then check if the issue persist.

  • Please post what DNS records you guys are using. I have seen it in the past where there are incorrect DNS records that prevent some mobile devices from working correctly.

    A good resource is here:
