  • problems where updates for .net  (new updates from Tuesday).  We didn't have to much time to explore and test, so we did restore of C (system partition).

after that services, owa  - exchange is ok.

BUT I need to do some plans for installing these updates.  wait some time and install updates one by one - do backup after every good one - to try to disceover where is the problem.

(I dont have test envirnment - so pls if some one is already discover problematic updates - let me know.

best regards and thank you for your time,

  • we have the exact same problems and our exchange server is still down. found no solution yet.

edit SOLVED: Microsoft rolled out KB2756918  to win2k3/exchange 2k7 environments. the kb seems to target exchange 2010/server 2k8 ... credit goes to http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Applications/Q_27994038.html

so very very sad that MS is aware of rolling out the patch to wrong environments and did not even post a hint on technet/etc... did cost us time&money since our production servers went down for almost a day.

@keli: dont mark a serious problem as solved when it is not :p

  • This issue occurs because certain operations on the Exchange Server 2007 server check the site related attribute from Exchange Server 2003 servers. However, this attribute is not provided and Exchange Server 2007 does not handle the null response well.

To resolve this problem, install the following update rollup:

2407025 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2407025/ )     Description of Update Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack

Also uncheck "Certification Revocation" while installing updates from internet.

  • We have seen several of this issues. Please confirm if below are the symptoms:

    - Microsoft Exchange Transport Service and Mail Submission does not start.

    - EMC and EMS does not open.

    - Apart from that, occassionally you cannot move or delete items from OWA.

    Please follow the below steps:

    1. Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\Config

    2. Rename the existing "machine.config" file to machine.config.old

    3. Rename the "machine.config.default" to machine.config.

    4. Restart the Exchange server.
