How to reformat WindowXp? RRS feed

  • Dear All,

    My computer is totally unable to bootup. when I startup it show a black screen and some beeping sound.
    How do I reformat my computer WindowXp?

  • Hi,

    This is definitely a hardware issue. Check your RAM and Display card (if it is an add-on card) are properly seated in the motherboard. Also check the processor is seated perfectly. Check the bios battery too.

    If everything is ready the beep sound will go away. Then the system will boot up. If you again need to install after formating the computer, Take your bootable WindowsXP CD and boot the computer from this CD(Set it accordingly at BIOS)

  • It is most probably related to a hardware.

    Check the sound with the tables in this article https://kb.iu.edu/d/afzy to find out the reason (depending on the manufacturer).
