  • Risks related to internet explorer 7.0.5730.13

    Hi,

I am an IT auditor currently planning my audit work for 2013.  On that matter, I was wondering what are the risks of staying on Internet Explorer 7.  I am looking for potential security risks which can only be resolved by upgrading to a later release.

    Thansk for your help,

    André

  • Long story, short version: As long as Windows (XP or Vista) is fully-patched at Windows Update, IE7 is secure.

Long story, longer version: IE8 (and IE9) include enhanced security so they're even more secure. See...

    versus...

Note: An ever-increasing number of websites no longer support (or fully-support) IE7.

[1] IE9 is available for Windows Vista only.
