MS Project hangs when creating a new project using an Enterprise project template RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello all,

I have the following problem for several EPM customers.

    1. In Project Professional 2010, can you click File > New > Project Server Templates (in the top row), in the dialogue box click Project Server Templates

    2. Select a template

    3. MS Project does not respond anymore

    1. In the local Cache of MS Project Professional an older version of the Enterprise Project Server template exists.

    1. Force restart MS Project using the Windows Task Manager.

    2. Open MS Project and clear the local cache in MS Project Professional, menu File - Options - Save - Clear local cache. Remove the template from the cache

  • Hi Marcel, thanks for letting us know about this.  I must admit, I've changed templates many times, and assuming the template is in my cache, haven't run into this issue.

  • To be more specific. The problem does not occur for the user who has modified the template, because this user has the new version of the project already in his local cache. The problem occurs only for other users.
