MDT 2013 UPDATE 1 - Store information locally instead of via a network share RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any way of configuring mdt to store information locally, on the hard disk instead of storing it on a network share. I am trying to store it locally because I don't have a domain setup on my computer it is a member of a workgroup. I have tried in the past to connect to a deployment share over PXE boot using sqlexpress as a intergration point for mdt but is fails.

    Thanks in advance

  • If you want an offline build then you could use a DVD/USB or if it's a VM then connect the generated ISO. This would keep things from connecting to a deployment share.

Or just create a local account on the server and give it read access to the DS then use those credentials in bootstrap to perform the drive mappings. MDT doesn't require a domain to work, just some form of valid credentials to connect to the server.
