Disable Windows Error Reporting dialog in single application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello.

I can disable WER dialog for all programs activating the policy "Prevent display of the user interface critical error". I followed the steps specificate here:

But i need disable it only in Microsoft Excel.

If i include EXCEL.exe in the policy "List of the excluded applications" of WER, nothing happens and dialog keeps appearing.

    How can i do it?

I have read this about register but the part of exclude applications is so confused.

    Thanks for read it.

  • Hi madbeat,

Have you tried to disable Error Reporting on Action Center? If you'd rather customize instead of completely disable error reporting in Windows and you'd rather customize instead of completely disable error reporting in Windows. Please check the link below about how to disable error reporting in Windows 8.

Also the registry key in the below is related to the Error Reporting.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting

Double click the DontShowUI entry on the right and change its value to 1.

Hope it will be helpful to you

  • Hi Carl Fan.

I have done both actions you posted it.

First of them, its about send error messages to Microsoft.

The second is to disable WER dialog for ALL applications. I'm trying do it for one single application (EXCEL.exe) and that's where i got problems.

    Thanks for your reply.
