Issue with Virtual Networks RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have come across a few issues with managing Virtual Networks in Hyper-V from SCE2010. I am not sure if these are bugs, design decisions, or if I am just missing something, so any suggestions or comments would be appreciated:

1). When Designating a Host, existing Virtual Networks are not imported. Any existing networks need to be deleted and re-created in SCE2010 in order to be visible in SCE2010.

2). When creating a Virtual Network from SCE2010, the Virtual Network is always set to allow the host OS to share the adapter assigned to the Virtual Network. There does not seem to be any way to change this other than to go into Hyper-V management and untick the "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter" checkbox.

3). Where the network adapter is shared with the host operating system, it does not seem to be possible to configure VLAN settings for the host from within SCE2010.

    Thanks,

    Nick.

  • Hi Nick,

For 1), we have made changes that for the final build to allow you to re-use existing virtual networks.

For 2) and 3) there isn't UI in Essentials to make these changes, but it is possible to perform this in Hyper-V.

    Thanks

    Richard
