We are considering implementing 4.5, and was wondering if anyone is using it with any of the CAD applications, like NX6, I-DEAS, Katia, etc. If so, how is performance, are there any problems, etc?
never had to sequence and deploy any CAD-software.
Personally I never had any performance issues (apart from Java) while using an application. Normally there is a slight delay in start-up, but this was vastly improved in the 4.5 release.
However, there is a performance decrease and this can be noticed - but from what I gathered around the forums - Autodesks applications are widely used and have been done so for a while. Meaning, its probably acceptable.
The downside is of course that there is not 64-bit client support and CAD programs are usually early adopted in this standard, so any improvements in resource utilization is lost when the 64-bit potential can't be used. /Znack
