Should we have named our domain the same as our email suffix? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are thinking about changing over to exchange 2010.. I set up a test server and have created a few of us on it with mailboxes. I have noticed though that it is creating the users with the suffix of our domain name something.local instead of asking me what the addresses should be which is something.org.

My question is, when we set up our domain controlled earlier this year, should we have set it up  with the domain name of something.org instead, or can this be fixed pretty easily?

Again, instead of me@something.local, I want the mailbox and exchange server suffix to be created as me@somethingelse.org

    Thanks in advance
