Rerouting of an URL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    As you know on Sharepoint 2007 there is a way to use Alternate Access Mapping, so that one could stick a meaningful URL to a Sherpoint instance.

    I face one request to put in place a sort of redirection from http://SubSite.CorpSite.com to http://SubSite.CorpSite.com/Pages/default.aspx?SortField=Date&SortDir=Desc.

    Or in other words, basically, when a user type http://SubSite.CorpSite.com, he will land on a specific page which is passing a query to order data and render it in the browser.

    I was looking at AAM, but it seems that is not possible. Are there other possibilities?

  • You could place a JavaScript function on the home page that looks like this:

    var myURL = window.location.href;
    window.location.href = "http://SubSite.CorpSite.com/Pages/default.aspx?SortField=Date&SortDir=Desc";

    And you'd probably want to do a lowercase function on myURL also.
