How to create & save new connections in the new modern remote desktop client? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I used to used RDCMan for managing my remote desktop connections. I really like the layout of the new modern Remote Desktop app. Rather than manually enter all the servers I want to connect to. Is there a way to use Powershell to create a new connection with a host name, custom name, what credentials to use, and what group to assign it to?

    did you mean this?

    function rdp{
        param(
            [switch]$sql2012,
            [switch]$dc2012r2,
            [switch]$server08r2,
            [switch]$ser2016
        )
        if($sql2012){$server = 'sql2012'}
        if($2012r2dc){$server = '2012r2dc'}
        if($server08r2){$server = 'server08r2'}
        if($ser2016){$server = 'ser2016'}
        if($server){
            mstsc /v:$server
        }
    }
    rdp -

    Best regards,

    Andy
