How does WPS with Wireless Hosted Network work? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have created a Wireless Hosted Network on my windows 10 machine. And it is working well with mobile devices and tablets. I just have to enter a password and it works.

Then I have got a camera that likes to connect with networks via WPS Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

How do I tell the Wireless Hosted Network to do WPS with that camera?
Or how does this network know that a client wishes to join via WPS?

I found an article that is writing about this topic.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd815243%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

But I still don't understand how that works.

  • WPS is setup by the WiFi device, so do you have a WPS button on your router \ wireless account point? If so press that, then the WPS settings on the camera.

  • Well, in this case Windows 10 is the wireless account point.
And the query is, how to tell Windows that it shall do WPS.

  • Sorry yes that is apparent in your post now now I know and read it back.

Cannot see anyway that can be done. Perhaps someone else knows of a way.
