BUG: After LISv3.1 install I have no cdrom/sr0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Before installing LISv3.1 I can mount CDs that are attached to the hyper-v client but after sr0 doesn't show up anymore in dmesg.  Is this a bug?

Okay, not a bug.  Confusing documentation.

The following should not start with "an ISO file".  It should be "the virtual cdrom".  An ISO applied to a hyper-v client as a mounted CD is not an ISO to the client.

    ----

To mount an ISO file in the virtual machine, the following command must be run before
    executing the mount command:

    insmod /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/ata/ata_piix.ko

  • Good point, and I'll modify the documentation as such.

  • Does, the insmod have to be ran every time you want to mount an ISO or is this a one-time thing? The command worked, just curious if i need to commit this step to my own memory.
