  • All your data entered on the SharePoint portal is stored inside SQL Server Database.  SharePoint manages these databases itself. Its adviced not to make any changes to this database manually from SQL Server.

The document from below location will give you an idea of all databases which are used by SharePoint:

  • Thanks KSDN.

I don't plan to change anything. I would just like to know where the data is stored so I can report on it?

Could you recommend a way of reporting on data through SharePoint itself? I am using 2007.

    Cheers

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

What kind of reporting you want to do? Can you please give some examples.

Additional Info: Data View Web parts can be considered for your requirement.  Refer this video: http://www.sharepoint-videos.com/report-on-sharepoint-list-data-using-data-view-web-part/

  • Ideally with reporting services. But I would also like to be able to just query the data I enter.
