• Question

  • I tried everything in order to get sound on my Dell Dimension XPS Gen 5 , but in vain .

After having upgraded my Windows XP to VISTA 2 , several programs do not function any more, such as MSN.

However, the most serious shortcoming is that they did not provide new drivers for the sound and video. (Creative and ATI )

I'm afraid that if I do not receive a solution soon, I have to go back to my old Windows XP program, as I cannot even use SKYPE any more ( it's deaf !!)

Please inform what I should do.  Thanks

  • The best approach would have been not to upgrate XP but to make dual boot with Vista on another drive.  If you have Audigy 2 ZS then I found the original drivers work with Vista in Compatibility mode quite well. ATI beta 1 drivers works with limitations on X800 Pro VIVO. (Vista 5384.4)

Now since you are stuck by upgrade. Do one thing. Right click your setup programs for your drivers and set compatbility mode of XP. They may then install properly.
