App-V 5.1 Reporting Server DB size RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We recently installed and configured the reporting server in our environment. The DB is hosted on a remote SQL server machine. Our DBA team would like to know what the future size growth of the DB will be etc.

I couldn't find much info on this for App-V reporting apart from this - http://www.tmurgent.com/TmBlog/?p=2150

Does Microsoft have any info/calculators on this?

  • It depends on how many Packages you have and to how many users you assign those packages. You basically get an entry for every Application Launch and Stop for every Package for every User.

I'm not Aware of any Calculator though.

  • Ok, so for example say we had 10 packages and 100 users assigned to them. How would that be worked out in terms of the DB?

i.e. each entry equals xxx bytes multiply that by .....

    Many thanks

  • 0Mb if no one starts any appv apps. It really depends on you appv usage.
As Simon says, for every start and stop event per user there is a row.

If you've got 10 packages for 100 users, and everyone start each package once every day:
    2*7*10*100=14.000 rows.

Ill check our reporting server tomorrow
