Skipped For Optimization - Task Status Updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

In my system users are regulary getting issues with Task Status Updates.

When they submit , the system is as awaiting approval - until this is fine

When the PM approves/ rejects it, system is not showing any status in Resource Timesheet Tasks (Process Status), and in Queue we are getting Skipped For Optimation message.

Can anyone please suggest what should be done in this kind of scenarios..

    Thanks & Regards

  • Hi Ravishankar --

There is no worry when queue shows the Skipped For Optimization. It means that Job has been skipped because a duplicate job has been found after it within the group. For more details , Please see below thread:

  • Hi Amit,

The issue is the users are not getting whether the task is approved/ rejected. When it is rejected they should take an action on it by changing the hours and send it for approval again.

    Hope you understood my problem

  • Hi Ravishankar--

Ok, In that case, did the project manager publish the plan after approving/rejecting the Task updates?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Amit,

For some of the tasks it is showing the status immedeately. The issue is occuring only sometimes (where it wont display process status at all).

And also PM cannot publish the project every time they approve the status update right! they will be doing it once in a day/two.

    pls. suggest

  • Hi Ravishankar --

So my question, after PM publishes the project plan, can team member see the Process status?

I am sure that your production instance must be on SP1 & June 2011 CU. You may try with auto status update rule & see if that resolves these kind of issue.

    Thanks,
