  • Hi CoderBond,

SP1 for SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2010?   Please note that this is a SharePoint 2007 forum.  You need to ask SharePoint 2010 related questions here:

Moderators, please take necessary action once the Asker confirms the version.

  • Rashu, I verified the service was stopped. Rant the the Wizard again and it bombed.

    Sorry. Moving it to http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010setup/thread/a41680ec-3952-4f71-9166-7ff21e8f76ee.

  • The error and callstack indicates that the configuration wizzard is trying to update a web.config file for a SharePoint web application.

It seems either the web.config file or the whole website directory which should hold this web.config file has been deleted from the server.

Is it possible that the IIS website for one or more SharePoint web apps have been deleted from the server without deleting the SharePoint web application through Central Admin?

  • For the benefit of everyone, we should stop answering to this thread as there is a duplicate thread in SharePoint 2010!

  • According to something I read, any future cumulative updates for MOSS 2007 would require SP2 to be installed.

  • Hi,

Compare the virtual directory folder with that of any other server in farm.

This step is to find out the difference. You can use Beyond Compare to do it easily.
