SCDMP Limits - how many virtual machines RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I like to install in our company SCDMP to protect Virtual Machines OS (domain controllers etc.), SQL server Data base, exchange etc. in summary is 160 VM, and my question is that to protect the all I have install 2x SCDPM server oraz it can be done by one. I already see SCMDP limitations

  • Hi,

    I would need more information about the workloads.

    Average size of VM's.
    Number and total size of SQL DB's you want to protect.
    Number of Exchange DB's and their sizes.
    I would probably recommend BMR backup for the DC's

    One DPM server should be able to backup all of the virtual machines plus the additional application workloads like SQL and Exchange if all of the above does not exceed the maximum limits for a single DPM server.
