I think I have a fake Windows XP Pro SP3 CD RRS feed

• Question

• Hey,

I brought another Windows XP Disk with Product Key.

It activated find and passed the online validation.

I just ran MGADiag.exe and I noticed that it said my User Agent for my browser says: Mozilla.

I think its strange as I have not installed anything on their as yet.

Could someone shed some light on this?

Also before you activate Windows how long does it give you (Days Remaining) until you activate it?

Also, Someone left a feedback saying its a fake copy.

It installed with the serial and Windows activated and passed the validation tool.

I was looking on Microsoft's page on How to Tell.

I saw this on the MS Site:
http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/static/images/vol_licensing/dvd_vol_1_3_lg.jpg

I did see both of those on the disk.

I was able to peal off the plastic on the front. Here are the images that I took:

I do feel that it is a fake, Scanning with Antivir, MBAM, Spyware Terminator and ESET online scanner found nothing so no patch FAIK and there is nothing being blocked in the hosts file.

Also its with the sticker. Here is the one I have:

People are saying that the image has cut outs and shouldnt.

Please help me with this!

• It might be the customized Windows XP Installation Disc.

Using nLite or other 3rd party tools, you can do things such as adding Firefox onto Installation Disc.

If you try

Start - Run and type cmd

In the Windows Command Prompt Window, Type "sfc /scannow" and enter

and have no trouble, it is fine.

Also, you have 30 remaining days after you install new copy of Windows.

For XP, it requires the Genuine CDKey from the install, so you should activate as soon as you finished installing it.
