Network security in Windows Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 2008 validates client's connection with certificates and or user account information. Event this, if I manually configure a valid internal IP adddress in a equipment and then plug it in the network would I have at least connection at IP level, even do I couldn't connect to Windows's network?

  • Hi,

Base on my research, if your company doesn’t enable the 802.1x authentication or the related NPS mechanisms, you can communicate with other IP device at IP layer. But your Windows network access will be limited.

    Hope this helps.
