Migration to Azure RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dears,

We have a clinet who has the below servers on-premises and would like to migrate to Azure (IaaS)

    - Active Directory server with 4 cores, 8GB RAM

    - Replica server with 4 cores,6GB RAM

    - Pims server for payroll with 4 cores, 4GB RAM

    - File server with 4 cores CPU, 16GB RAM - 4TB file storage

Can you confirm that we can offer the below in Azure:

    - B4MS virtual machines for AD, Pims server and File server, no need for replica server in Azure.

We need a SQL server for Pims right?

We will add 4TB file storage on top.

For the AD, is it better to have a VM in Azure as Active directory machine or just subscribe to Azure Active directory service? For Azure AD option , what is the deployment scenario to be considered, how can we size and choose the needed and what shall be kept on premise considering a maximum of 80 users?

  • Since your user base is very small, so you can go for option where you can migrate everything to Azure.

Active DIrectory: You can go for Azure AD if your client base is windows 10

Replica Server :- That you have mentioned not required

PIMS Server:- You can look for an option of PAAS where you can go for SQL DB as PAAS service

File Server:- You can go for option of Blob Storage, what ever size you are looking for.
