How to Automate Recovery of SQL Databas in DPM 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can anyone tell me how you automate the recovery of a DB in DPM 2010?

Why automate recovery?  I need to run some operations on a copy of the DB onm a scheduled and it would be a tremendous help if I did not have to manually do the DB Recovery via DPM every single day I need to do this.  I have lokked and can find no info on how to automate or schedule recovery in DPM.

    Thanks

  • I don't believe we have any way of automating a recovery.  The only possible solutions would be:

    1. You could use the SSRT for SQL and thus simplify the recovery of databases by enabling a user to do it from their desktop thereby bypassing the need to use the DPM console.

    2. You could create a powershell script and just force it to run for you as needed eliminating the DPM console or UIs.
