defrag RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Has anyone found that you can't access (rearrange items) in Performance and Maintenance on the control panel,

When I do I get this message>windows cannot find 'C:\Program' .make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search?

I put it in the search and a lot of files came up but I could not find one that matched.

I not sure what to do next?

I wanted to defragment the disk before I switched on the disk protection in steady state.

    Can anyone help.

Hi, does the issue on non-restricted administrator account? You can also check if this occurs after disabling restrictions in Windows SteadyState or removing SteadyState temporarily. If yes, this can be Windows Vista issue. I suggest you post the issue to the following newsgroup to resolve it in a timely manner:

  • Hello Sean,

I am running XP pro not vista and I am administrator,

I have tried removing the restrictions in steady state and have still got the same message?

    Can you help me further?

    Martin.
