Server 2016 RDS Performance issues/disconnections due to Inactive Terminals Server Ports RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have several Windows 7 clients from who the connection drops on our 2016 Terminal Server. It starts with the system getting slow performance and finally the connection drops. After a few minutes they can get access again and everything works fine. This behaviour happens a few times a week. Clients use their local printer. After investigating there where several open ports in the registry. They connect thru a VPN. The VPN never looses the connection by the way.

I found several articles regarding 2008 and 2012 but no fix for Server 2016 RDS.

The ports accumulate under the TS ports registry key below:

    [HKLM/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/DeviceClasses{28d78fad-5a12-11d1-ae5b-0000f803a8c2}##?#Root#RDPBUS#0000#{28d78fad-5a12-11d1-ae5b-0000f803a8c2}]

Does anyone have a fix for me?
