Restore SQL server files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I had a SCOM server that crashed.

I have a backup of  the SQL server Data on a DPM server 2012 r2.

I have recovered the data to a network share.
I have reinstalled the SCOM server.

I am trying to restore the data to the new SCOM  server.

If I Try to restore Database I am unable to restore.

If I try to restore files and file groups ,From device  and I select the MDF file I gent an error The media family is incorrectly formed. Error 3241.

I cannot restore directly from the DPM Sever.

    Thanks

    Itamar

In common the file Extension of a backup file is .BAK

A MDF is a database file, which can be attached to SQL Server, see Attach a Database
