PWA Enterprise Custom Field & Managed Site Columns RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Project Server 2013 and have created several Enterprise Custom Fields (some with look-up tables, etc.).  So far so good...

Another group in my company has setup a Content Type Hub to standardize field values across SharePoint sites in the organization.  I can see these values under the Project Web App site's Term Store Management Tool.  I can also add a Site Column to a View successfully.

That said, I cannot seem to figure out how to consume the values of a managed Site Column (e.g. Client) so that they show up as a list of selectable values in an Enterprise Custom Field - i.e. to be used on the Project Details page of a PWA project.

Any thoughts or guidance is very much appreciated.

  • That's interesting about using the Content Type Hub with PWA, but I don't think this will work.  They enterprise custom fields and meta data of the content hub are managed in two separate databases.  I haven't seen any indication that this is linked between these two systems.

  • Michael,

Thanks for your reply to my post.   Do you happen to know if PWA is even compatible with the Managed MetaData Server App field types?
