How to configure Server Manager Menu for Remote Desktop Connection to use a custom port? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Following security practices the organization has configured a non-standard listening port for Remote Desktop Connections. The client connection is then modified by appending the port number to the computer name (example: RemoteComputer:3388).

How do I configure Server Manager to use a custom port when launching from the Menu (Remote Desktop Connection) rather than the default port?

  • Server Manager is using WinRM listener to communicate remotely and using Port number 5985.

If you change the port number of WinRM, You need to run Powershell scripts with new port number, Since Powershell uses WinRM to connect the server.

Refer below link to change the port number for WinRM.
