VDI AND DHCP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good evening,

I have a question regarding vdi and dhcp server. We have 2 dhcp server with 10 scopes and we implemented vdi. I want to prevent virtual machines of getting ip from dhcp. We have a pool of static addresses to assign to vms. Is it better to use dhcp policies to deny ips to vms or is it better to use filters? We will have 20 vms so I am looking for a solution with least amount of administrative effort.

  • Hi,

Since you just have 20 vms,I suggest you configure DHCP reservations to reserve static IP address for permanent use by a DHCP client. It could prevent virtual machines of getting other ip from dhcp.
