Remote Desktop Connection not working on W7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
Yesterday I configured my Remote Desktop to connect to a PC I used to connect with Vista. Yesterday I could connect to it and there was no problem. Today it tries to connect but it says the PC is off or out of the network. If I ask somebody else that is using Vista, he can connect to the PC, therefore the other PC is working.

The IP is correctly configured on my C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and I have configured the correct password. What can be happening?

  • I have found a few other other remarks about an intermittant RDC connection, and the main reason seems to be membership in a HomeGroup, rather than a "Work network". Check the settings in the Network and Sharing center in Control Panel of the 7 system.
