Which Windows service runs DNS64? RRS feed

  • Question

  • On Windows Server 2012 R2 which service does the DNS64 functionality run under?

Also does the DNS64 service do any caching, and if so how to flush the DNS cache?

  • Hi,

DNS64 is no longer a separate service (like UAG times) but a process included in the Remote Access Management Service that operate in SVCHOSTS (so system account). And to manage it we have get/Set-NetDNSTransitionconfiguration powershell command. The Get-NetDNSTransitionMoniroring provide some information about DNS resolution performed by the service.
