outlook 2016 can not c reate a new accout RRS feed

  • Hi, my PC with window 7 professional version and office 2016. When I create a new account in outlook, I had following error:

    "We do not connect to incoming (POP) server, please check the setting of (POP) server and try again"

  • Hello Jim,

    This error message occurs when there are some mistakes in configuration settings. So carefully provide the proper information on ‘Account type’, ‘passwords’, ‘port numbers’ etc. while creating the account.

    For POP account type, set:
    Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
    Incoming Server: 995
    Outgoing Server: 587

    Have you successfully configured your email account in Outlook now?

    The port number, mail server, etc. provided by Bruce is for Gmail account. May I know who is your mail provider? You can confirm with your mail provider for the detailed settings to configure the account in Outlook. Or you can have a look at the following Microsoft KB article which listed some Internet service providers and see whether your provided is listed here:
