Upgrade path from Proclarity 5.2 to 6.2 ??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a AS 2000 / Proclarity 5.3 on a Single Server installation that we want to migrate to an existing AS 2005 / Proclarity 6.2 installation on seperate servers. Are there any guides available on how to do this  ? Ie specific to Proclarity ?

And how does the licensing work - ie assuming we currently are licensed for the AS2005 / Proclarity 6.2 Instances

I'm pretty good with SQL Server / Analysis Services , but know v. little about Proclarity :-)

    cheers,
    Andy

  • Hi Andy,

The upgrade process is pretty simple..  you'll want to uninstall the previous version and then install the newer version pointing to the old database.  You'll obviously want to test this in development before running the upgrade in production to see if the views work correctly.  Another tip is after uninstalling 5.3 delete the ProClarity directories at c:\program files\, c:\program files\common files\ and the PAS directory at c:\inetpub\wwwroot, then reboot.

You might also consider upgrading to 6.3 as 6.2 will no longer be supported after 6/30/09.

Licenses for 6.2 are not obtainable through Microsoft.  Licenses for the ProClarity 6.3 platform are a downgrade right with the MOSS ECAL license + SA.
