Based on your description, I’m hard to fix the range of your problem. Would you please give me some more details? For example, which operation system do you use when the issue occurred? Which operation did you do and then cause the trouble?
By a way, you may have some 3rd party shell extension that is interfering with your explorer. You can troubleshoot this problem by using the Sysinternals Autoruns tool to disable these components.
