How to restrict user access to only allow updates to % Complete field in MS Project Server 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to set up a user group in Project Server 2016 that would only allow the users of said group permission to update 1 field (% Complete); they would need read only access to all other fields. Is this possible? If so, any suggestions on steps to do so are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Elena

  • Hi W Consulting,

This is not possible.   If you have the rights to edit a project, then you can change any field in that project.   The closest you could get is using Project Server Permission mode with customized groups, categories and views, and then in PWA you could create a view that only shows the task name, start and finish, and % complete.

Have you explored the My Tasks feature, you can lock this down pretty well, but of course you have to assign resources to the task.
