Compatbility of archiving and monitoring databases /lync 2013 /SkypeFB RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Lync 2013 deployment  with monitoring and archiving.

I'm going  to deploy a new site with skypeFB,  I need to know  if the actual monitoring and archiving databases support the new user in the SkypeFB pool, or if a need to deploy a separate archiving and monitoring  databases  for my new pool.

If this is case, Can I install the databases on the same SQL server  or  do i need a different server?

    Regards.

  • Hi EAC326,

You can use the existing one.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg425833%28v=ocs.15%29.aspx

Multiple central sites can also share any of the following that you deploy in one central site:

    • Stand-alone Mediation Server or pool
    • Edge Server or Edge pool
    • Persistent Chat Server or pool
    • Archiving
    • Monitoring

However, you can also collocate the databases with the Back End Server in the new site.

    Best regards,

    Eric

  • I believe it should work, though there may be a database update required.
