Switching to Network Diagram view incorrectly updates/rectifies Scheduled Finish date RRS feed

  • Question

  • Version: MS Project Professional 2010 - 14.0.6123.5001(64-bit)

Summary: Switching to Network Diagram view incorrectly updates/rectifies Scheduled Finish date

    Repro steps

    1. Create a situation in which the Finish and Scheduled Finish dates do not match

    2. Switch to Network Diagram View

    3. Notice that the Scheduled Finish date is now equal to the Finish date.

    Specific steps in my scenario

Current state in the project file

    - Start : 10/1/2012 (Manual)

    - Finish : 10/12/2012(Manual)

    - Scheduled Start: 10/1/2012

    - Scheduled Finish: 10/15/2012

My schedule has a task which is exceeds the current milestone by 1 day which gives me the following expected error:

Task Finish date may need to  be delayed by 1d

As you can see it gives the appropriate error in the Task Inspector that my Manual End may need to be moved out by 1 day.

But the minute I switch to the network view it automatically fixes the Scheduled Finish to be 10/12/2012 (equal to the manual Finish date) even though the subtask still completes on 10/15/2012
