why being asked for pin? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Today I turn on my laptop and it asks for pin rather than password (luckily i guess i remembered it).

But this seems absolutely absurd. After a year, with no warning, I must enter a pin???? I don't believe there was any warning that this was going to happen. Why did Microsoft do such a thing?

  • Is this a personal laptop or are you enrolled into an enterprise network? For example your company could be applying policies which force this.

  • From the login screen, you can choose to login with password or pin.The left is Pin and the right is password.
