  • Question

  • Hello,

I recently inherited the role of a Senior Network Administrator of a small business with 3 locations total. I am the only one in the IT Department officially and I am actually quite new to this. The previous Net Admin did not leave adequate documentation of the Network and even password info and logins are scrambled away in random locations. It's a mess quite simply, and a giant undertaking for a green horn. My question is what you use to document your network, what type of tools or software is there available that will make getting an idea about what is going on here easier?

  • You can use,

One-Note, Excel, Visio to managed the IT support requirements.

You might want to conduct a password change and sync up for your usage. This will make you remember the new sets of password which was change.

    to minimize sabotage :)

One-Note will definitely help you alot for documentation. Else you might want to implement Netwrix. This tool helps you keep track on the changes which  was initiated.
