  • Question

  • Hello

Recently we had an issue with one of our server 2008R2 sp1 servers where it was stalled on server startup

The server had become stuck trying to start the following services:

    Log Name:      System
    Source:        Service Control Manager

    Task Category: None
    Level:         Error
    Keywords:      Classic
    User:          N/A
    Computer:      Server.contoso.com
    Description:
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the NlaSvc service.

I found the following article which appears to be applicable:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2465772

However I checked the file version on the currently installed tcpip.sys:

    version 6.1.7601.18438

    date: 05/04/2014

This version appears to correlate to the following:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2957189

The version of the file in 2465772 is higher to that of 2947189, however the date is lower:

    version 6.1.7600.20882

    date: 17/01/2011

Is 2465772 still applicable in this case?

Answers

  • Hi,

They are in different Service Branch.

GDR service branches contain only those fixes that are widely released to address widespread, critical issues. LDR service branches contain hotfixes in addition to widely released fixes.

You may try to install it. If it isn't applicable to your server, it will tell you.

    Best Regards.
