  • Hi, 
       There are many causes of Outlook 2016 indexing not working on Windows 10. Sometimes, the settings also change while updating the Outlook versions. You just have to reset the settings properly with following steps :-  
    1. Go to control panel >> Programs Option >> Programs & Features >> Change (on) the Windows feature option 
    2. After this, check on the indexing option and click OK 
    3. Open Outlook again in system and check the working of Index. If the problem will arise again. Then, you are in different indexing problems and it means you also need to rebuilding of index.

    Index Rebuilding in Outlook :
    Now have to rebuild index in Outlook 2010 to solve your Issues of indexing, for this follow some steps as given below:-
    1. You can easily handle the indexing option with Outlook.
    2. Go to the File > Options> Search
    3. Select Indexing option from search section.
    4. Then, the dialog box appears of indexing option, select Advance option. But you should have rights of administration to access.
    5. After that, click on the rebuild option from Advanced Option dialog box
    then, it starts rebuilding index.

    Could you please clarify what you exactly mean by "Outlook 2016 indexing not working"?
    Is there any error message related to the issue?

    Recently, there was a hot issue that when searching in Outlook, you get this error: “Something went wrong and your search couldn’t be completed.”, or "Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed".
