  • Hi,

    Thanks for your reply!

I think you should do the following things:

    1. Contacting with Lenovo vendor to make sure that whether it support install Hyper-V.

    2. Doing a test, create a VM manually to see if have the same issue. Downloading the ISO file on Microsoft official website and create the VM manually instead of export and import.

I am looking forward to receiving your feedback, hope this can help you.

    Cheers,

    Daniel

  • Hi,

Good Day! And thanks for posting in our forum!

    1. Please check that your host version and hardware configuration support the installation of Hyper-V role.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/system-requirements-for-hyper-v-on-windows

    2. Please check if there is any error information in Event Viewer?

    3. Please try to reinstall Hyper-V role and try to recreate Hyper-V template on your host.

    4. Please make sure that you have already enable hardware virtualization in BISO.

    5. Try to reinstall another generation VM.

Hope this can help you, please feel free to let me know if you have any other question.

    BR,

    Daniel

  • Define what you mean by 'Hyper-V template'.  How are you creating the templates?  Is a special piece of software being used?  What are the steps you use to 'deploy' the template?

  • Every time when i'm creating virtual machine i have to spend 20 minutes in installing new windows and make the basic configurations. I would like to avoid this. I create Hyper v templates follow the steps from this section: www.agileit.com/news/creating-a-hyper-v-template/  and everything goings well until the moment when i run the newer virtual machine. It's seem that windows it's not installed at all.

This happens only on one special machine Lenovo G50. I've checked already the hardware configuration on the machine and its seems that support installation in hyper V.  Furthermore i've installed few virtual machines already and they running well. But i'm not enable to create new one with this templates.

  • The Lenovo G50 is not a supported hardware platform for Windows/Hyper-V Server.  It is not listed as a certified platform at windowsservercatalog.com.  That does not mean that you will not be able to get it to run, but it does mean that it is unsupported.

After you have sysprepped the template by using the Generalize and Out-of-the-Box Experience options, what steps do you perform to try to use the template image?  Does the process of creating a new VM from your template work properly when performed on any other system?
