  • Question

  • Hi,

SCCM "Remote Tools" for Windows Server 2012, cant start session with the user. And user dont get Prompt user for Remote Control Permission.

We use SCCM "Remote Control Viewer" on our Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1, and we Prompt user for Remote Control Permission.

Now I test to Enable this on our Server 2012, So i have created an "Client Settings" and scooped to some test Servers.

I can connect "Remote Control Viewer" to the test server only the "ctrl + alt + del windows". But I cant connect eith the Log on users session:

somehow the process  "SCToastNotification.exe" will not start (I see this on the Windows client where it works "Create a process application Name=C:\Windows\CCM\SCToastNotification.exe")

Here is some of the settings I made for the test servers:

    Device Settings:
Enable remote Control on Client - "Enabled" and Config the Domain FW
Prompt user for Remote Control Permission" - "Yes"
Grant Remote Control permission to local Administrator group - "Full Control"

    SCCM-Client on the server client:
SCCM Client show "Remote Tools Agent" Enable

So what can I have missed?

  • Dear Sir,

Have you tried this in a 2012 R2 server or a 2008 R2 server? Does the issue just occur in 2012 servers ?

You mean that no matter whether there's a user log on or not, they will not get the prompt for remote control?

When you attempt to connect to the devices which have been loggen on, are there any error messages appeared at that time?

    Best regards,

    Jimmy
