function Table.TransformColumns for nested tables RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I'm just starting to discover power query, one think that I can't figure out is how to use the function "Table.TransformColumns" when the column I want to modify contains tables and I want to applied changes to that tables without expending

    exemple:

    next:

    if I want to transpose the nested tables from the column "Value", it's working:

    = Table.TransformColumns(PreviousStep,{"Value",Table.Transpose}),

    but if I want to remove from the nested table the column "Attributes", I've tried the function:

    = Table.TransformColumns(PreviousStep,{"Value",Table.RemoveColumns(each _,{"Attributes"})}),

    ending with error:

    "Expression.Error: Cannot convert a value of type Function to type Table.
    Details:
        Value=Function
        Type=Type"

    The problem is that the operation "Table.RemoveColumns" requieres 2 arguments: the name of the table and the columns to be removed, I can't figure out how to structured so it can be used for nested tables (using "each" ends with error)

    Thank you
